Keeping our community healthy and safe:

Komen Central Indiana's response to COVID-19

In light of the recent progression of COVID-19, and the CDC guidance to postpone mass gatherings, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule the from April 18 to August 1 at the same time and location, Historic Military Park at White River State Park, 601 West New York Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202.

While this is incredibly disappointing, the health and safety of our constituents, volunteers, sponsors, and the community at large remain our priority. We are continuing to monitor the situation and we remain here for the women and men touched by breast cancer who need our assistance.

Our event is a day when we can all can put aside everything else in our lives and share our space, our stories, our laughter, and our tears to raise money that ultimately saves lives. As such, we look forward to sharing that day with you later this year!  The funds you raise for the event support breast health programs in our community including screening, diagnostic testing, treatment assistance, and more. No matter what is happening in the world, breast cancer does not stop and neither do we; as long as breast cancer is here, we are here to fight it with you.

Moving the event and the overall impact of COVID-19 will make a significant financial impact on our ability to serve the women who need us most, including those currently in ongoing breast cancer treatment. We ask you, as a member of the Komen Central Indiana family, to help as you can.

We can take advantage of the additional time home and perhaps find a silver lining in this global event. Register for our upcoming event on August 1, 2020 and raise critical funds for the mission of Susan G. Komen Central Indiana without ever leaving home:

  • Set a goal and share your fundraising link through email and social media with friends, family, co-workers and neighbors.

  • Share your personal story — through email, social media, our mobile app -- it's the best way to inspire your friends and family to donate.

  • Start a Facebook fundraiser through your participant center or reshare your existing fundraiser. Consider having a virtual walk on April 18th to keep your momentum going.

We are also posting updates to our FAQ section of the Event website. We encourage you to visit these FAQs for the most up-to-date information.
